Canadian Rockies | August 6 - 14, 2025

Vancouver

Day 1, August 6

We will arrive at Vancouver Airport and be greeted by our guide and motorcoach for the week. After a transfer to the hotel, we will enjoy a group dinner tonight. Overnight Vancouver, Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel or similar. (D)

Capilano Suspension Bridge

Day 2, August 7

After breakfast, we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Our tour will include a drive around Stanley Park with its infamous Totem Poles. Other sites will include Canada Place and the waterfront, North America’s second largest Chinatown, the historic Gastown district and Granville Island with its famous public market. After lunch, we will drive across the magnificent Lions Gate Bridge to Vancouver’s North shore where we will walk across the Capilano Bridge, a swinging bridge across Capilano Canyon and one of Canada’s most popular attractions. We will enjoy panoramic views over the city and the Georgia Strait via a skyride to the top of Grouse Mountain. Overnight Vancouver, Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel or similar. (B)

Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island

Day 3, August 8

This morning we will board a high-speed ferry for a 1.5 hour crossing of the Georgia Strait through the beautiful Gulf Islands to Victoria. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a visit to the famous Butchart Gardens, one of the most beautiful public gardens in the world which was created early last century from a stone quarry. After lunch, we will tour downtown Victoria, a city whose British heritage and colonial past can be seen clearly in its architecture, gardens, museums and urban squares. Sites on the tour will include Beacon Hill Park, Bastion Square, the Parliament Buildings, Chinatown, the Inner Harbor and the historic Empress Hotel. There will be free time for shopping and dinner before our late afternoon return to Vancouver. Overnight Vancouver, Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel or similar. (B)

Glenn Valley in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia

Day 4, August 9

After breakfast, we will enjoy a scenic ride through the Fraser Valley known for its agriculture with many barns, dairies, and fields, and home to the world’s greatest salmon producing river. We will stop and visit Hells Gate via Hells Gate Airtram, one of the only descending gondolas in North America, to see the abrupt narrowing of British Columbia’s Fraser River. After lunch, we will continue north passing through Cache Creek into the desert-like country of the Thompson-Okanagan Region. This region is filled with diverse climates of tall mountains, rolling hills, roaring waterfalls, free flowing rivers, peaceful lakes, a dry desert, and a temperate rainforest. Overnight Kamloops, Doubletree Hotel or similar. (B)

Day 5, August 10

This morning we continue our scenic drive north via Clearwater to the beautiful Wells Gray Park, home to some of the most extensive and lushest wildflower meadows in Canada and also 39 waterfalls including Spahats Falls. Many species of wildlife abound in this area such as mule deer, black bears and many species of birds. We will cross the Yellowhead Pass and Mount Robson, the most prominent mountain in North America’s Rocky Mountain range and the highest peak of the Canadian Rockies. We will enjoy a group dinner tonight. Overnight Jasper, Forest Park Hotel. (B)(D)

Maligne Lake

Day 6, August 11

After breakfast, we will enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Jasper National Park, the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies and known for its vast wilderness, majestic peaks, abundant wildlife and outstanding natural beauty.  We will enjoy a walk in the beautiful Maligne Canyon, the deepest canyon in the park with depths of over 160 feet at certain points. After lunch we will cruise Maligne Lake to Spirit Island, the heart and soul of Jasper National Park and one of the world’s most photographed natural landmarks. Overnight Jasper, Forest Park Hotel. Day 7, August 12

Today is a remarkable day of natural beauty! We will travel along the Canadian Icefield Parkway, one of the world’s most beautiful highways, passing some of Canada’s highest mountains and most magnificent glaciers. We will stop at Athabasca Falls and Sunwapta Falls before reaching Athabasca Glacier, a tongue of ice measuring almost 4 miles long and a half mile wide. We will explore the glacier by riding on the Ice Explorer, a large, all-terrain vehicle designed for glacier travel. Our guide will explain how glaciers are formed and point out interesting geological features and we will have the option to step out onto ice formed from snow falling as long as 400 years ago. Later this afternoon, we will enjoy walking on the Skywalk, a glass-floored, open-air walkway that juts out from a cliff face and offers views from the observation platform that is over 900 feet above the Sunwapta Valley, mountains, and rivers. Afterwards, we will enjoy scenic overlooks and picture stops of Bow Lake and Peyto Lake and their amazing, incredible blue glacial water. Overnight Banff, Banff Caribou Lodge or similar. (B)

Day 8, August 13

After breakfast, we will enjoy Banff National Park and the town of Banff which has an elevation of 4,537 feet making it the highest town in Canada. Banff is known for its sparkling turquoise lakes, snow-capped mountains and fascinating wildlife. Highlights of the day will include Bow River Falls, Tunnel Mountain Drive with the wind eroded hoodoos, Surprise Corner, and Banff Springs Hotel. We will enjoy a ride up Sulphur Mountain via the Banff Gondola for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Later this afternoon, we will drive to Johnston Canyon via Bow Valley Parkway to visit Moraine Lake and the Valley of Ten Peaks. We will end the afternoon at the famous Lake Louise known for its vivid turquoise waters and its stunning mountain setting. We will also see Emerald Lake, another one of British Columbia’s most stunning lakes. We will enjoy a group dinner tonight. Overnight Banff, Banff Caribou Lodge or similar. (B)(D)

Day 9, August 14

After breakfast, we will travel through the foothills of the Rockies passing through the Kananaskis Region to Calgary, a vibrant city in Alberta, Canada.  We will enjoy a short scenic tour of Calgary and its iconic sites such as Fort Calgary, the Stampede grounds, the Eau Claire Market and the downtown business district while enroute to the airport. Late afternoon flight back to the United States. (B)
