Depart Houston at approximately 3:30 PM for our flight to Cape Town, South Africa. There will be a short layover in Amsterdam before continuing on to Cape Town.
Monday, September 5
Arrive Cape Town at approximately 9:30 PM and transfer to our hotel located in the Alfred and Victoria Waterfront area of the city.
Monday, September 5
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a Half Day Cape Town City Tour. Known as the “Mother City”, Cape Town is the oldest city in South Africa. Perched between the ocean and the mountain, with a national park as its heart, there is nowhere like Cape Town.
Travel by cable car to the top of spectacular Table Mountain for unforgettable sweeping views. Also visit the colourful houses of the Malay Quarter (Bo Kaap) and shop for authentic souvenirs at Greenmarket Square. Also enjoy a leisurely stroll though Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, one of the great botanical gardens of the world.
Wednesday, September 7
Today will be a Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour. Explore the beauty of the Cape Peninsula and drive along one of South Africa’s most scenic routes passing by Sea Point and Camp’s Bay. Enjoy a cruise to Seal Island to view seals and sea birds at Duiker Island. Continue along Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape Point Nature Reserve and stand at the southernmost tip of Africa. Visit the New Lighthouse, the most powerful in the world, located at Cape of Good Hope. Continue on to Boulder’s Island to visit the African penguins.
Thursday, September 8
Drive to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa is known for its natural beauty and oak-lined avenues, Cape Dutch architecture, history and culture – and of course its wine routes. Stellies – as it’s affectionately known – is a university town, so despite its heritage it retains a youthful vibe. Visit the Neethlingshof Estate which lies in the heart of Stellenbosch, with a history dating back to 1705.
Later today return to Cape Town and visit Robben Island via a ferry ride across Table Bay. Robben Island is the infamous maximum security prison where Nelson Mandela spent 27 years of his life in exile.
Thursday, September 8

Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11
Begin the next two days with early morning wakeup calls and coffee and snacks served before our safari guide escorts us to our open safari vehicles for a morning game drive. Watch the incredible sunrise over the plains and see the animals beginning to stir. Stop mid way through the drive to enjoy coffee and pastries. Return to the lodge and enjoy a hearty breakfast and the remaining morning is at leisure or enjoy a guided bush walk with a safari guide.
Lunch is served at approximately 1:00pm and then depart for an afternoon game drive at approximately 3:30 PM. The search continues to spot the “Big 5” of Kruger Park and learn about the incredible intelligence of the animals of the park as the guide explains their behaviour. After sunset, return to the lodge for dinner.
Monday, September 12
Early morning transfer to Kruger Airport for a flight to Livingstone, Zambia and then transfer to the hotel. Later this afternoon, enjoy a Sundowner Cruise on the Zambezi River where we will heed the call of Africa while enjoying snacks and beverages.
Tuesday, September 13
Depart to the launch site for a short boat ride on the Zambezi river to visit Livingstone Island. Livingstone Island is located in the middle of the Zambezi River right on the edge of the Victoria Falls just before the water thunders down a 338 feet drop. For the brave at heart, a swim in Devil’s Pool is a must do!
Cross the border from Zambia to Zimbabwe to view Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Learn from a guide how the falls were formed and what local customs and traditions surround them.
Wednesday, September 14
After breakfast, cross the borders to Botswana and transfer to a safari lodge located on the banks of Chobe river. The Chobe River supports the largest concentration of elephants found anywhere in Africa and it is not uncommon to encounter herds in excess of a hundred animals.
After lunch, depart on an afternoon safari. This will either be a boat safari on the Chobe River or a 4×4 open vehicle safari in the Chobe National Park. Each game viewing activity will provide incredible viewing of animal and bird life along the river. Watch as elephants swim across the river and hippos grunt and frolic in the water
Thursday, September 15
Early morning wakeup call to begin the day with the beautiful sunrise and begin our safari drive with our guide. Return to the lodge and enjoy breakfast and leisure time before lunch.
Depart for a final afternoon safari, either by boat on the Chobe River or a 4×4 open vehicle through Chobe National Park. Return to the lodge after an amazing sunset for a farewell dinner
Friday, September 16
Enjoy one last early morning safari on the Chobe River or in the Chobe National Park before transfer to the Kasasne Airport for a flight to Johannesburg International Airport.
International Flight departs Johannesburg at approximately 8:000PM with a layover in Atlanta and arriving in Houston at approximately 10:00am Saturday Morning
