Monday, May 5
We will meet at Denver International Airport for our flight to Louisville, KY. Upon arrival to Louisville, we will enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Louisville, Embassy Suites. (D)
Tuesday, May 6
Today we are off to the races! We will spend the morning at Churchill Downs, home to the most prestigious horse race in America, The Kentucky Derby. We will enjoy a “backstretch tour” of the race track where we will see thoroughbreds working out at speeds nearing 40 miles per hour. We will also have a panoramic view of the grandstand, the historic Twin Spires, and the green-roofed barns where the horses are stabled. Included in our visit, will be the Kentucky Derby Museum, dedicated to preserving the history of the Kentucky Derby. After lunch it is “batter up” time! We will tour the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory that celebrates the extraordinary role Louisville Slugger baseball bats have played in the sport’s past, present, and future. We will also have the opportunity to watch the production of these iconic bats and take home a souvenir! Tonight, we will enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant. Wednesday, May 7
After breakfast, we will visit the Ark Encounter, a one-of-a-kind historically themed attraction presenting a number of historical events centered on Noah’s Ark as recorded in the Bible. The Ark is the considered the largest freestanding timber frame structure in the world and is built according to the specs found in the Old Testament. Lunch is included at the onsite restaurant, Emzara’s. The evening will be free to enjoy dinner on your own at a local restaurant. Overnight Georgetown, KY – Home2Suites, Georgetown KY (B)(L)
Thursday, May 8
This morning after breakfast, we will visit the Kentucky Horse Park which encompasses 1,200 acres of prime bluegrass farmland in Lexington, KY, the Horse Capital of the World. This Kentucky state park was founded in 1978 and opened to the public as the world’s only park dedicated to man’s relationship with the horse. After lunch, we will tour Kentucky Toyota, America’s first and the world’s largest Toyota manufacturing facility. We will watch the production process of cars such as the Avalon, Lexus ES 350, and America’s best-selling car for 14 years running – the Camry. Friday, May 9
We will spend today at The Creation Museum, a 75,000-square-foot facility that features animatronic dinosaurs and professional displays that honor God’s Word. These exhibits show why God´s infallible Word, rather than man´s faulty assumptions, is the place to begin if we want to make sense of our world. Lunch is included at the on-site restaurant. Late afternoon, we will depart for the Northern Kentucky Airport (Cincinnati) for our return flight to Denver. (B)(L)
